nice, i love seeing other jrd's! is that quad heavy as hell? i can't lie, mines like a tank. i actually bought some custom jrd 250r motor mounts. i figure a big bore 250r engine would help lighten it up. i love the way it handles and feels, but i have to be wide open all the time with the a 426 engine or it slows right down...

Nice looking CRF man!
800screws - Is your bike really that heavy? That sucks. My LSR/CRF felt pretty light.

find out if u could and get his opinion on the weight...i figure he probably doesn't think it's that heavy if he's going to be putting a 250f engine in it... i'm so used to 2 strokes...waaay lighter....
can u send any more pics of the jrd? maybe some closeups? bdzierzek@hvc.rr.com
i have a twist throttle on mine, but i think i'm going to try a thumb...what do u use to cover the hole where the push cable goes into the carb? can u use a 450r of yfz450 carb linkage cover?

Not sure about the 450r of yfz cover, we used a 400ex thumb throttle with a custom cable from KandK to fit the FCR carb!!!!! As far as the return hole we just plugged it with silicone. I told him to get some pics!!!!

yfz cable works for 400ex throttle, not a "custom" cable

what silencer did u end up using for the jrd? was it a crf or a trx? did u have to mod the mid pipe or weld on a new mounting bracket?

We used a trx 450 curtis sparks, I think 04-05, i will double check and try to get you some close up pics of rear mount. We made a rear mount for the grab bar so we wouldn't have to trim the pipe! I rode his last night and it does feel somewhat heavy, but only when your not in the gas!!!

i only bought mine last fall and hadn't really rode it till this past month, and i have to say, it's not as bad when u are riding it. i was comparing picking it up to a 2 stroke quad. of course it was going to be heavier...anyway i love the thing, i hit almost every jump without hesatation on the thing. i have a fmf q silencer on now from a yz426. i had to bend the midpipe and weld on a bracket, next season i would like to get a better pipe and make it look alittle more sano than what i have now. are the crf and yz426's headpipes close in bends so i could use a trx silencer?

Not sure about the crf and yz426, i think the yfz 450 headers are closer to the trx 450, but not sure. I would pm jrspawn on this site, he has alot more experience with the yamaha's and has seen every type of hybrid out there!

when i first went riding, i noticed the front wheel had alittle play...turned out the steel spindle wore out the aluminum. sent it to jrd said it couldn't be fixed and i had to buy a new one. they said it has never happened before, well i came back from riding today and now the other one is worn. the new one that i bought also was different and was alot beefier. i think i'm going to stock spindles. did u ecounter this problem?
