hello all. new member here, this weekend picked up a full walsh YZ450 thats in A-1 condition. Got it off a guy in Ohio said he got it from Dave Dyvers(sp?). Not sure who that is since i've been racing on two wheels for the last five years. Just got the itch to get back on a quad so I figured I might as well do it right. -Walsh frame 2000 model, arms, swinger, stem -TC National YZ450 (loving the 4-spd.) -PEP ZPS all around and so on...will try to get some pics up sometime

Sweet! Hurry up and get those pics. ;D If I'm not mistaken, Dave Diver was one of the first guys to start putting a 4 stroke motor in a 250R chassis.

hurry and get pics for sure. Wasnt ellis one of the originators too, with the yz400 motor? Yep, sure was. Him and Tim Farr both built some real nice Laeger/YZ's back in the day. But I think Dave Diver was even doing it before those two. I could be wrong though.....

Kory was actually the first to have the true "hybrid" quad. He used to work for Laegers and personally worked with designing it. While on the opposite coast Walsh was also hard at work making they're first hybrid chasis. Harold goodman was the first to pursue a hybrid with walsh, he acctually dropped off a YZF400 to walsh and told him to make it work in 98 i believe. He also won the Pro am class on the first ever walsh hybrid chasis.
There were Alot of racers building the 350x hybrids before the yz400's were out there, but as for the Bike liquid cooled style engines, ellis with laeger and goodman with Walsh were the first ones finished for each company.

Well there you go. Shows what I know. I knew Ellis was one of the first guys, but I thought I had saw Dave Diver on a hybrid before I did Kory Ellis. Oh well, it's not the first time I've been wrong.
