I'm going to start building a 400ex/yz400f hybrid, i'm looking for a frame right now so i can get started on my new project, I'm going to go with a stock frame fully gusseted and i'm going to buy a conversion kit and install it myself

I can buy a YZ400F engine from a guy in Idaho (i live in alberta) for a really good price so i'm going to go with that engine and you can make a yz400f into a 440 stroker or a 426 big bore

How long do you think it will take you to get done with your yz hybrid project?

I would go for a YZ426. I have owned just about every make hybrid out there and all engine combo's. the best bang for the buck is the 426. You can find them all over for around 1000. Im not too fond of the 440 kits, have a big problem with cracking the skirts on the pistons, not too reliable, and cant tell the HP difference from the 426. I think with a stock 426, you will be pretty happy with it, very reliable and great power.
