Mainly I think getting the motor mounts fixed up would be your biggest priority. Jrspawn has had several YZ hybrids, he should be able to help you out a good bit when he sees this.

Hey, i would Strongly suggest if your new to the hybrids, to try to find a frame/chasis setup thats already made for the YZ engine. To convert a 250r style frame "correctly" may not be too easy for someone that hasnt done it a few times. I see alot of people that just bolt the engine up in the frame making some custom motor mounts and a bracket for the back, but you dont want to do this. To get the engine to set at a proper angle/setup you want to bolt it through the pivot bolt area, which requires cuting and modifying the 250r swing arm also. And then you will also have to try to find a spot to mount the oil tank, coil, CDI, and other goodies. It can be done relatively easy, but i also say go for the proper chasis, makes things SO much easier and nicer. Let me know if i can help you with anything else man.
Thank you Justin

how hard is it to convert it? the reason i ask is because i found this frame and i think i can get it pretty cheap. i asked the guy what kind of motor it had because it is a lonestar frame and i wasn't sure it used to be a hybrid.

id say get it and find out what motor it was for and if not u have to get a motor set it in there and then find out what angle the motor needs to be out and see if it fits without majour frame modifications on teh bottome side. its more work than most ppl think expecally in the rear end

Where are you getting the frame? I'd call LSR and ask them what all it would take to make the 426 fit in there.

hey there guys im also new to this hybrid stuff, but i am also lookin to install a yz426 in to my stock honda 250r frame. now u say the swingarm has to be modified? what exactly has to be done? i'm pretty good at fabricating and welding so i dont think it would be to hard. also i got a burguard rear swing-arm with is made out of box-tube steel, so it would be easy to modify, and work with
thanks-karl
